How To Install
Tesla uses two completely separate systems for custom sounds — Lock Chime and Boombox. They need different USB setups.
Lock Chime
Plays on lock / unlockLockChime.wav/ (root — no subfolder!)Boombox Sounds
Horn · AVAS · Summon/Boombox/ folderexFAT only (NTFS not supported!)Use two separate USB drives — or partition one drive. Mixing them on the same partition will cause one or both systems to fail.
Download the sound
Your file downloads automatically as LockChime.wav — exact capitalisation required. Do not rename it.
Format the USB drive
Format as exFAT or FAT32. Copy LockChime.wav directly to the root — not inside any folder.
Plug into Tesla & test
Insert the USB into the glovebox port. Lock your Tesla — it should play within a few seconds. No Boombox menu needed for Lock Chime.
Download the sound
Your file downloads as a .wav. Rename if needed — avoid spaces and special characters.
Prepare the USB drive
Format as exFAT. Create a folder named exactly Boombox in the root. Copy up to 5 sound files into it.
Assign in Tesla
Go to Controls → Safety → Boombox. Select the sound for Horn, AVAS, or Summon.
Test each sound
Horn works in Park only. AVAS plays at low speed. Summon plays during Smart Summon movement.
Every sound is pre-exported in the exact format and filename Tesla expects. Compatible with Model 3, Y, S, and X.
